Joyce C Kraft

Joyce Annelle Conkle Kraft transitioned Sunday, November 17, 2019. The daughter of Bertha Unger Conkle and Ralph Cleaver Conkle was born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 23, 1928. The family of five daughters – Delores Conkle Grifford, Joanne Conkle Zimmer, Margie Jean Conkle and Gaynelle Conkle Woods.

Joyce graduated from Kent State University, where she was head majorette and member of Delta Psi Kappa while earning her degree in Education. Joyce was a caring and passionate teacher who enjoyed a career teaching in the Spring Branch ISD and Houston ISD. Joyce was the Harris County Health Education Coordinator, Joyce was a manager for the Safety Council of Greater Houston and she later established her own Educational Agency-dba Alcohol and Traffic Safety Institute, which she owned for 24 years; teaching into her early eighties.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and sisters. She is survived by her children Robert Thomas Kraft, Jr. (Cindy), Stephen Ralph Kraft (Andrea), Linda Ann Kraft Randolph (David) and Laura Lea Kraft Conway – 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Friday, December 6, 2019 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
