Juan Antonio "Tony" Cabrera

Juan Antonio "Tony" Cabrera, 66, returned to his heavenly home on June 29, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

Tony was born to the late Juan De Dios and Tomacita Cabrera, with whom he immigrated from Monterrey, Mexico in February of 1956. Tony had a long career of 35 years as a baker for Randalls Food Stores in the Houston area. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially if it included time fishing and time at his cousin’s ranch.

Tony was blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Rebecca M. Cabrera, on December 30, 1971 in Monterrey, Mexico. Tony helped raise his 2 girls with patience, discipline and humility.

Tony is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his daughters Veronica and Vanessa and spouse Brian Mendoza; his grandchildren Jaden Mendoza, Aubrey Mendoza and Veida Cabrera; his sisters Blanca Garcia and spouse Artemio Garcia, Dora Gonzalez and spouse Jose Gonzalez and his brother, Emilio Cabrera and spouse Graciela Cabrera. Tony is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek on July 4, 2016 from 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on July 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M., Brookside Funeral Home. Tony will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1101 Antoine Dr., Houston, Texas 77055.
