She was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Lawrence and Ruth Becker on October 3, 1948. A gifted artist and talented musician, Judy was an award winning oboist in high school, she enjoyed playing the piano and she created many beautiful paintings throughout her life. After much hard work and determination she received her degree in Art History from the University of Houston, Clear Lake. Judy was a devoted wife to her high school sweetheart, Jim, and a loving, supportive mother to her two daughters. She had a kind heart and generous spirit. She and Jim were life-long animal lovers. They adopted and happily spoiled many dogs and cats who might not have otherwise had loving homes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, James D. McPhail; her parents; and her sister, Sharon Bono.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Hadley (husband, Stephen) and Jennifer McPhail.
