

Mary Julia Vandervoort Rehm passed away on Saturday October 9, 2010 at her home in Houston, Texas. Born in Arab, Alabama on March 20, 1925, she was the beloved wife of William Arthur Rehm for 37 years and a loving mother to F. Edward Miller, Jr. and Patricia G. Miller. She is survived by her husband, “Bill” of Houston, Texas; son, “Eddie” and wife “Natalie” of Rockwall, Texas; daughter, “Pattie” of Houston, Texas; brother, “Hal” and wife “Andrea” of Guntersville, Alabama; and brother-in-law, “Roger” and wife “Gretchen” of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves behind several cousins and a great aunt as well as numerous step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. “Julie” or “Judy” was devoted to her Methodist faith and worshipped at Chapelwood United Methodist Church. She attended a weekly Bible study group for over 25 years and did volunteer work in the Church for over 15 years as well as an active member in her College Sorority – ZTA. She devoted her life to family, friends, her constant companion “Beegie” and church. She was a giving and loving person and always found the good in everyone. Her main hobbies were needlepoint, reading and jigsaw puzzles. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family would like to especially thank the wonderful caregivers who have been with her over the last year. To name a few-Anita, Michelle, Crystal, Nancy, Mimi and Paula. Thanks also go to William and Sandy at Careworks and all the caring nurses with Hospice. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our wife/mother and personally helping each of us along the way. Each of you were a God send and we will never forget you. The family will be receiving visitors on Tuesday October 12, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079. A celebration of “Julie’s” life will be held on Wednesday October 13, 2010 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church 11140 Greenbay Houston, Texas 77024 at 1:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Rockwall, Texas on Thursday October 14, 2010.
