As a big fan of music she sang in choirs like the Exxon Singers where she was once President. A semi-finalist at the CASI Chili Championship in Terlingua, she later assisted Charles in barbecue cook-offs. She was also a Catholic Daughter over 10 years - three years holding office.
At Exxon she worked in Accounting, Supply where she was the first female nonsupport staff scheduling ships, and Purchasing where her efforts resulted in Exxon being named for the first time the N.M.S.D.C. Corporation of the Year. After commuting to Houston for 32 years she retired from Exxon in 1999. After retirement she enjoyed seeing various places via cruise ships. She loved taking pictures but loved hugs even more.
The family always looked forward to her hosting holiday gatherings. You could always count on her as she took care of her mother after her stroke and her brothers after surgeries. Kathy was the rock of our family who treated everyone fairly regardless of status.

The family requests donations to your favorite charities in her memory.
WORK HISTORY
KATHRYN TRIOLA
JULY 10 1967 – JULY 10, 1997
Prior to working for Exxon I had the following work experience:
Milked cows, fed chickens, picked cotton.
Wrapped gift boxes.
Soda jerk.
Pharmacy clerk.
Floral shop & tax return assistance.
W.H. Norris Lumber Co., Bookkeeping for 17 lumber yards.
L.B. Marsh Allied Refrigeration – Cost Accounting
Concrete Service Company – One girl office – bookkeeping, even batched concrete.
Sline Industrial Painters – Asst. to Office Manager, cost accounting, bank reconciliations, payroll, etc.
Exxon bought out Signal Oil & Gas, and placed an ad in the paper for accounting people. My father saw that ad & called me. He said in 25 years with the Company, he had never seen them put an ad in the paper and that he wanted me to apply. I made an appointment for after work that day. Rene Hillier put me through the testing. The next morning at work (at Sline) Mother called to tell me Exxon had called at 7:30 a.m. I returned the call, interviewed on my lunch hour, and was hired.
My first assignment was Marketing Accounting – Receivables, posting and balancing payments. Worked a variety of jobs in receivables, put together a training manual, trained new personnel. The customer Billing department was going to work on a new system called Doris. Two of the people I had worked with in receivables convinced their manager that I would be of help and off I went to a new challenge & opportunity. The project got a lot of exposure. Unheard of in those days, I flew for the Company to a couple of the roll-out presentations. I spent a total of four and one half years with HAC.
For the next year and a half, Supply Controllers was the next assignment.. My immediate boss was Mr. Fox, who reported to Harry Devine. I was introduced to exchange accounting and reconciled West Coast exchanges (gasoline, diesel fuel, heavy fuel oil, etc.). One day Mr. Devine said he wanted to send me on an interview with the Supply Department. Pencils & Pens??? Nope! Clean Products.
I interviewed with Bill Raymond and Neil Weller and became the first woman in the Supply Department (excluding the secretaries). I worked the Billings/Benicia Program and a very knowledge and experienced man, Mr. Walter Scott, who gave me a lot of good advice, handled the Gulf/East Coast. After working in this area and learning the ropes from Uncle Ed Hurst, et all, I joined the Crude bunch.
Under the guidance of Don Murray (Dr. Don), I worked the Crude Program (Supply/Demand); Scheduled North Slope Crude through the Panama Canal to the Gulf/East Coast refineries….before they built the Trans-Panama Pipeline, and then it was scheduled from Petro Terminal de Panama (or PTP), Worked with a team prior to start-up and scheduled the first Hondo Crude from the OS&T. I spent a total of 13 wonderful years in the Supply Department and was very fortunate to Interact with Refining, Marketing, Shipping, Supply Commerce, and still feel they are part of my Exxon Family.
In 1986, I was transferred to Upstream Purchasing. I worked for Tom Peden and Al Laechelin, reporting to Byron Hilton. This assignment began with commodities purchasing: Computers, Peripherals, Hardwar and Software. The next assignment in Upstream had me reporting direct to Mr. Hilton as the Minority Vendor Coordinator. During this three year assignment I was awarded the Helping Hand Award in 1989, and EUSA received the 1989 Innovation Award. In 1990 I received the Advocate of the Year award, and in 1991, Exxon was, for the first time, the N.M.S.D.C.’s Corporation of the year.
In 1991 I began my current job assignment in the Central Purchasing Services and have worked Service contracts of all types.
