Keith was a light that lit up a room with his smile and laughter. Keith was loving, genuine, giving, and kind. He will be deeply missed and grieved by everyone that knew him. His passing on the 15th of October 15, 2025, at just 35 years old, was sudden and heartbreaking.
Keith was born on the 18th of May 1990, in Midland, Texas. During his early years there, he formed deep, lasting bonds with friends and family that would remain with him throughout his life. In 1996, the family moved to Houston, Texas where Keith immediately found a group of lifelong friends whose families also took him as one of their own.
It was in middle school and high school that Keith embraced his passion for music, due to exceptional teachers and programs that cultivated his natural talent. He became an award-winning percussionist and proudly served as captain of the Jersey Village High School drum line.
Keith was a lifelong Longhorn fan and upon his high school graduation in 2008, Keith decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy with a minor in Mathematics. His curiosity for ideas and his analytical mind made him a natural fit for both fields.
After graduating, Keith began his career at Just Energy as a Senior Business Analyst. Four years later, he decided to return to school full-time, earning his Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston. Through his persistence, intellect, and ambition he was hired for a coveted position as a Business Intelligence Engineer II at Amazon Web Services. Eventually, Keith joined NRG Energy as a Senior Data Engineer. Throughout his career, Keith found a community of colleagues who became his true and loyal friends.
Keith shined his brightest as a son to Jill and George, brother to Lindsey and her husband Cameron, and uncle to Ava and Weston and was always present with his friendship, companionship, and most of all his love. His absence leaves behind a void that will never be filled.
Keith was well read, a deep thinker, and known for his spirited conversations. He could talk with anyone about anything from philosophy and music, to sports and physical fitness. One of his true passions was to study and discuss his investments and the ever-changing swings of the stock market.
Keith had a heart as big as his intellect, one filled with love for his family and many friends, and they all loved him back. He had a quick wit and an infectious laugh. He was easy to like and to love.
Keith is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his parents George and Jill Safi; his sister Lindsey Del Favero and brother-in-law Cameron; his niece and nephew Ava and Weston Del Favero; his uncle Tony Safi (Charlotte), and aunts Leila Hobson, Tammy Safi and Gail Hankinson (Steve); and cousins Robert Safi, Bryan Safi, Caroline Safi, Sarah Hobson (Beau Tschirhart), Christine Hobson (Josh Rippie), Michelle Schneider (Matthew), Brandon Hankinson (Kylie), and Brooke Webster (Ryne).
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, comfort, and support during this difficult and unimaginable time.
A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 25th of October, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the Rev. Kathleen Davies is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent grand foyer.
Keith will be forever missed, forever loved, and forever remembered.
