Kessie Mae Addison

Kessie Mae Daughtry Addison was born in Keachi, Louisiana DeSoto Parish to James Lee Daughtry, Sr. (preceded her in death), and Exie B. Daughtry. She was raised in Houston, Texas and attended Mabel B. Wesley Elementary School and Booker T, Washington High School.

She continued her education at Prairie View A&M University. Over the years, Kessie was employed at FMC Technology, Hewlett Packard and worked in the library at Prairie View A&M University.

Kessie was a member of Highland Heights COGIC and Iglesias Sendero de La Cruz.

She enjoyed traveling, dancing, was very outgoing and loved laughter and life. She also enjoyed spending time and having fun with her special friends better known as the Young Lady Gang: Marjorie (Moosie) Jones, JoAnn McGarthy and Hattie Waddle.

Kessie is survived by her Mother, Exie B. Daughtry. Daughters: Deavra A. Daughtry and Tamberly D. Dumas (George). Siblings: Jeanette Bookman (Roger Bookman II), Waymon Daughtry, Claybon Daughtry, JoAnn Love. She is preceded in death by Siblings: James Lee Daughtry, Jr., Joyce Marie Daughtry, Earnest L. Daughtry, Donald Lee Daughtry, Lynell Daughtry. Grandchildren: Ebone Stowers, Chazsten Daughtry, Alexiss Daughtry, Te’Drein Ards, Simone Lewis Dafeu, Nya Dumas. Great Grandchildren, Lola, Claire, Yohann, Jr., Johann, Marily Jane and Ava Grace. Godson: Damon Jarrod Wilson, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

A visitation for Kessie will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sheefold Church of God In Christ, located at 518 Rittenhouse St. Houston, Texas 77091. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. The committal service will follow from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM, at Cemetery Beautiful 8401 Wheatley St., Houston, TX 77088.
