

Larry Lee Knight, a devoted and beloved member of the Houston community, passed away on November 14, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on January 29, 1937, in Clarksville to Opal and Claude Knight, Larry's journey through life was marked by his gentle and kind-hearted nature, as well as his unwavering loyalty and selflessness.
Larry's early years were spent in Clarksville until his family moved to Trinity when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Trinity High School and moved to Houston at the age of 18, where he met his future wife, Ann, who lived across the street. Their marriage on January 31, 1959, was the beginning of a 53-year union filled with love and devotion. Larry was known for his patient and hard-working demeanor, always finding joy in spoiling Ann.
His career path led him to Plumbing School, where he became a plumbing apprentice and eventually worked for the City of Houston as a Plumbing Inspector. Larry's dedication and wisdom were evident throughout his 27-year career, retiring from the City of Houston on January 28, 1999.
Larry was a man of many interests and hobbies. He found joy in marathon running, reading the Bible, decorating outdoor Christmas lights, and camping. His passion for history, particularly the Civil War and Western movies, was well-known among family and friends. He cherished the Houston's First Baptist Christmas Pageant, which he loved attending.
In addition to his personal pursuits, Larry was deeply involved in his community. He drove a bus for the Baptist Temple Church in Houston, Texas, and provided lawn care for Montgomery Cemetery, always eager to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
Larry is survived by his loving family: son Larry Lee Knight Jr., daughter Nancy Lamont and husband Giles, daughter Cheryl Alexander and husband John; grandchildren Julian Strauss, Blair Lamont, and Eli Strauss and wife Kelsey; great-grandchildren Clementine Strauss and Atticus Strauss, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His faithful and wise presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends will gather during a visitation at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22 at Pat H. Foley & Co., 1200 W. 34th St. in Houston, 77018, where funeral services will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Graveside services and interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, also in Houston.
