

Leif Kjeldsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Maya and Majus Kjeldsen, on April 29, 1945. As a young adult he traveled the world for the Danish Merchant Marines. In 1975, Leif met his future wife, Fanny Martin, who had traveled to Copenhagen. One year later they married in New Jersey and soon after moved to Houston, Texas, where they lived for 35 years. In 1979, their son Christian was born. Leif was a fan of soccer, he coached and refereed youth soccer. He and his family have been parishioners at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton for over 30 years, and he was recently part of the church choir. Leif had worked in Computer Operations for most of his life and his last job was as a Computer Operations Supervisor for the city of Houston.
Leif was a very wonderful husband and father. He was always supportive of, provided for, and appreciative of his family. He once told his son, "choose what ever makes you happy in life, and I will support you in whatever that is". Leif was a very happy person. Frequently smiling and laughing, he brought happiness and laughter to many. Leif loved life, and lived it very child like. He loved to talk and interact with people. Many times he would strike up a conversation with the person next to him when waiting in line. Leif was known for giving very big hugs. He was a humble person and it was very easy for him to forgive. At times when people would ask him for forgiveness, he would say "there is nothing to forgive".
