Leo Beal

On October 4, 2024, a bouncing baby boy was welcomed to the parentage of the late Lee Preston Sr. and Ruby Beal whom they named Leo Hilburn.

He attended Gregory Elementary, Harper Jr. High and Booker T. Washington High School.

Upon completing school, Leo enlisted into the US Marine Corps (“Semper Fidelis”) (“Always Faithful”) and was awarded a purple Heart for his heroism in Vietnam.

After receiving an honorable discharge from the Military, he began his career as a bus driver with Rapid Transit which later became known as the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County. (Metro)

Having a wonderful spirit, Leo decided he wanted to travel and visit all the states in America. Thus, he became an 18-wheeler truck driver traveling all over the USA enjoying the sites and meeting new people.

Upon returning he began to spend quality with his family members, taking pleasure in family reunions, BBQ's, parties and dinners. He really loved being around his people! However, Leo’s greatest love was all forms of sport events, with football being his specialty.

Leo leaves to mourn, his loving, caring and understanding wife Beverly; 3 wonderful sons Victor Ward (Denise), Leandrew, Anthony and a beautiful daughter, June; loving and loyal siblings, Pamela and Lee Preston Jr. (Georgia) 7 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren. Two brothers-in-law, Leroy Jr. And Otis, three sisters in–laws, Wyntress, Paula, and Stephanie, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Willie Ruth, J.C. and Robert Earl, and a very special cousin Barbara Beal.

On the early morning of October 19, 2024, 2 weeks and 1 day of his 82nd birthday, the Lord saw that His precious child had grown tired and decided to relieve him of his pain and suffering by gathering him in His arms to be with him for eternity.

A visitation for Leo will be held Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, Inc, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
