

Leon was born on August 20, 1938, to Frank and Josephine Miller in Houston, Texas. For decades, he was a route salesman for Hillman Distributing. Following his retirement from Hillman, Leon worked for Houston Executive Limousines as a driver, providing service to numerous clients from local residents to company executives to entertainers to news station personalities and government dignitaries. With his love for music and his Italian heritage, one of his favorite memories as a driver was singing “Che La Luna” with a famous Italian Tenor.
Throughout his career, Leon was dedicated to providing the best possible customer service. His gregarious personality, customer service, warmth, and caring nature along with his sense of humor always made for a “happy customer.”
Leon was a devout Catholic and proud of his Italian Heritage. He will always be remembered for his loving and caring nature and his “comedic ability” to tell memorable and countless jokes. Leon was an active member of the Sacred Heart Society and The Goodfellows Club.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Josephine, sisters Barbara, Pauline, and Frances, and brother, Tanny. He is survived by his wife, Polly, his children, Tena (Anthony), Lynn, and Eric (Robin), their mother, Jeanette, stepchildren, Debra and Michael, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Eric Miller, Jason Trusty, Anthony Alvarez, Nicholas Alvarez, Michael White, Matthew Nece and Tanny Pizzo. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Caliva, Barney Francescon, Anthony LaCorte, John L. Maida, Nunzio Martino, Denny Matranga, John Storenski, and Agapito Ragalado.
Funeral Services:
Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Visitation at 9:45 AM; Recitation of The Rosary by the Sacred Heart Society at 10:30 AM; and Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. After Mass, there will be a reception in the Parish Life Center. The Rite of Committal will be at 3:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
