Our beloved Leticia Iberri Patiño, born May 25, 1933, aged 88, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021. A longtime resident of Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Clementina Patiño and Arturo Iberri, who preceded her in death, as did her sister Yolanda Iberri de Leon, brothers Arturo Iberri Jr, Humberto Iberri, Ignacio Iberri and Rodolfo Iberri. She is survived by her only daughter Cynthia Clementina Iberri De Suerte and her granddaughters Jocelyne Suerte, Valeria Suerte and Camila Suerte, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.
Leticia had a happy childhood. She loved going to the stadium to watch Baseball games and going to the plaza to eat ice cream. She had many friends growing up that she kept in touch with throughout the years forming long lasting friendships. Leticia was known by many people from Mexico, California and Texas and, to her dear friends, she was “Lety”, a hardworking, high energy, loving Mother and Grandmother who loved God, her church and who always had a positive outlook in life. Her hobbies included loving and caring for her granddaughters, gardening, reading the bible, listening to Christian music and growing closer to God by doing daily bible study and prayers. She loved to share her love of God with anyone she encountered. Her faith in God was unbreakable.
Leticia will be remembered as a selfless, loving Mother and Grandmother who always put her family first. She had an amazing light and always brightened any room she walked in with her beautiful smile and kind heart. Leticia enjoyed good health for most of her life; however, two years ago she was diagnosed with Heart Valve Stenosis. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her doctors and nurses for the amazing care that they provided during her hospital stay in Ben Taub Hospital. We are also grateful for the love and support of her dear friends who she considered family, as well as members of her Church Family.
We can’t begin to express how much we will miss our loving Lety. We know that she had a wonderful life and that she is enjoying eternal life in heaven. We will celebrate her life and will continue her legacy in all that we do. “May the Peace, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and may the blessing of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be with you, and remain with you, always. The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.” - Romans 6:23
