On May 20, 1938, Lillian Douglas was born to Rev. William Douglas Sr. and Ruby Douglas in Mansfield, Louisiana. She was baptized in the Church of Christ, Trinity Gardens Church of Christ, Houston, Texas. She attended Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas.
Lillian supported and encouraged the elderly in her community. She also shared her love and nurturing spirit by taking care of children in her neighborhood. She loved inspirational music, including “I Can’t Give Up” and “I’m Still Here.” Those were two of her favorites. Mother enjoyed attending and engaging with the church members. She was faithful in the Lord.
Proceeded in death by: Ray Douglas (son), Joe Bell Douglas (brother), Abell Douglas (brother), William Douglas Jr. (Busta, brother), Emma Cook (sister), Martha Presley (sister), and Ola Mae Douglas Graham (sister).
Lillian Douglas leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Regina Pointer; one brother, Kenneth Douglas (Delvinia); two sons, Larry Cook (Renee) and George Cook Jr.; three daughters, Cynthia Caffrey (Roy Lee), Cheryl Cook, and Joyce Sargent (Columbus); 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral service Thursday, October 16, 2025,11am at Trinity Gardens Church of Christ,7725 Sandra St. Ste A, Houston TX, 77016. Family will receive friends 10am until time of service.
