

Lily grew up in a sleepy town in Sinton, Texas, San Patricio County. North of Corpus Christi, Texas and was the second oldest of twelve children. Worked in the cotton fields at a very tender age. Very little, if any, time for a formal education. All hands were needed in the field.
Lily moved to Houston in 1955 at the behest of her brother Thomas Sierra to meet a Church of Christ minister Clarence Eckman and was baptized into Christ in 1957. She began working at a warehouse as a packer, worked cleaning home, an elevator operator at the Lamar Hotel in downtown Houston. She also enjoyed cooking, yard work, and going to Bible Study and worship service, while she was still physically able to travel to attend.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elijio Sierra and Luz Sierra,and her siblings Roberto Sierra, Rosalia Gonzalez, Thomas Sierra, Benito Sierra, Nicholas Sierra, Carmen Funlow, Rodolfo Sierra, Armando Sierra.
She is survived by her son Jaime Sierra Martinez and her two brothers, Fernando Sierra, Roy Sierra.
A visitation with the family for Lily will be held Friday, August 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Graveside service will follow immediately after at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
