Lily and we were childhood neighbors all the way through high school in Myanmar.  Her beauty and charm has always been the talk of the town.  We were untied again some 30 years later during my job transfer to League City, Texas.  
Since then, Lily and Jack have included me on all their family gatherings and holiday celebrations.  Their generosity and hospitality are out of the world!  I would have been swept away by Hurricane Ike back in 2008 if it wasn’t for Lily and Jack.  Not only did they opened their doors to me, but also took such good care of me throughout the whole disaster period.  We got the chance of catching up and learned about her coloring lives in many different countries with Jack.  Her favorite city being Dubai.  Thank you, thank you, thank you……………………Lily.  I wish she can still hear me, it’s a thank you that worth repeating.  
Lily, with all the good deed and kindness you have shown us,  you have earned a good place in heaven and will be like an angel looking after all of us.  Jack, I am all ears whenever you need to talk.  We all need help at time like this.  For years, I have received those wonderful emails from you and Lily.  Keep it up, Jack.

           A  Loving Remembrance of LILY THAM
Our most beloved Lily fell away silently without saying goodbye, like a vividly painted leaf adrift diaphanously in a breath of the autumn zephyr.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary, O holy Mother of God.
Please bestow your blessings upon dear Lily who is in her long and balmy sleep.
It's surmised that in her dream she meditated on " A thousand ages in THY sight are like an evening gone; They fly forgotten, as a dream. "
 On her flight to Heaven, she gazed at her love ones she left on earth.
While on earth  her love ones, her siblings and her friends celebrate her abundant and beatific life as a paragon of uxorial virtue with perpetual exuberance of maternal warmth. And she always manifested ebullient affection toward her siblings. Her friends extol her as a perfect serenely poised lady with the savoir faire elegance and ample slinky grace. 
Someday we shall lull with her in the immortal meadows of asphodels.
Adios dear lily. In our heart of hearts there will always be an enclave of
the permanent frost without thaw.  And you will be missed beyond the infinite time with the inconsolable grief.



I have to thank my dear sister, Lily for helping me to bring me to Christ with a simple morning prayer and a beautiful Christmas gift of Our Lady holding baby Jesus gently close to our Heavenly Mother’s heart.  Those gifts last forever! Thank you for your love of charity and humility! These are the   Virtues  to lead us to a good Christian. I love you dearly and will miss you very much! With God’s Grace, please ask God to allow you to join me when I am in the chapel praying and attend daily and Sunday mass!
I can’t wait to join you to celebrate everlasting life in heaven!

Lily is my 3rd sister and she's also my God-mother.  To her it wasn't easy for her to be secretly baptised. She was driven out of our family home when our mum, a devout Buddhist, found out about it. It was after some months that she was welcomed home when our dad and eldest sister, Mary managed to talk her round. I always looked up to her for her good examples and straightforward personalities.  I remembered her as a very friendly and easy to approach sister who gave good advice when I needed one. At school she had a very close friend who was also my catechism teacher. They played the roles of Mother Mary and St. Bernadette which I remembered fondly. Not long after, her good friend became a nun of St. Joseph of the Apparition and her name is called Sister Rosary. She is now in charge of an orphanage for girls. I went to see her during my mission trip to Myanmar in October last year.
Although I will miss Lily, I'm sure she's now in the loving embrace of our Lord.

We are very saddened to hear of Lily Tham’s passing. It is an honor to have known such a wonderful person and friend.  She will be truly missed.
