She took Cosmetology in school and would fix the hair of ladies from church and would take them to the store. Linda worked at Walmart and Tenneco Gas Station on Jensen. Linda told about a dream she had working at the gas station. She dreamed that people were paying for gas with shoes, and she had a great big pile of shoes behind the gas station. She and her mom did hot shot deliveries for a while until they realized they were spending more on gas and not getting much profit.
Linda and her family were members of the Melrose North Houston Masonic Lodge. Linda enjoyed her time helping organize meals for families who lost loved ones.
Linda married Michael Brittingham on December 16, 1995; they would have been married 30 years this year. Linda did not have any children of her own, however, she and Mike raised his nieces, Sarah and Dian and were loving grandparents to Dian’s son, Jay. Linda loved and adored her nieces, her great nieces and nephews and her new great, great nephew. She never hesitated to get on the floor and engage with them in whatever game they wanted to play. Linda loved spending time with them and was there to help when Cathy and Becky needed her. She played an integral role in their lives and they will miss her dearly.
Linda was a momma’s girl, but she adored her daddy. Aubrey was a truck driver. Linda was very proud when Daddy told her she was the only one of his girls, that while they were driving, he felt relaxed enough to sleep.
Her family will miss her every day. But they are thankful for having her in their lives and have peace knowing they will meet again.
