Linda Jo Maxwell was born to Ross and Hilda Byers on the 3rd of January of 1948 and passed away on the 17th of April of 2017 at the age of 69. Linda was married to John Maxwell and spent 40 years traveling and skiing all over the United States & Canada.
As a child, Linda was fond of ballroom dancing, reading and writing. Ever since Linda was five, she knew she wanted to be a teacher. She earned her Master’s in English and Literature at Sam Houston State University and went on to teach at multiple school districts including Klein from which Linda retired. Linda was extremely proud of and close to her students throughout the years and proud of their accomplishments in life. Some of the most gratifying moments during Linda’s career came when she broke through with a student and saw their passions ignite! Linda excelled as Head of the English Department at Klein Forest High School and being a teacher’s instructor at the Writers Institute.
Classic country was a favorite of Linda and John. Always On My Mind by Willie Nelson was her favorite. Along with enjoying music, Linda loved reading, writing, going out with friends, and buying jewelry and purses “we cannot afford”. But how could John say no to such a wonderful, inspirational being?
Left to cherish the loving memory of Linda, are her husband John, their nieces Meredith McKinney, Amanda Farrand and Cody Maxwell and five great nieces and nephews.
