Lloyd T. Strasner Jr.

Lloyd T. Strasner, Jr. (Butch), age 76, of Katy, Texas, passed away September 3, 2024. Born August 25, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd T. Strasner, Sr. and Christine Lampkin; nephew, Dennis Davis. Butch is survived by his children, Shannon Ethridge (Lee); Sean Strasner (Loretta); grandchildren Chase Ethridge (Jessica); Mackenzie Strasner; Lindsay Ethridge; Zoe Naraghi; Jaden Naraghi; great grandchild Clara Ethridge; sisters Betty Davis (Jim); Linda Beard (Lee) and numerous nieces and nephews plus his loyal dog, Pepper, who was by his side when he died.

Butch, a Vietnam Veteran, served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1970. During his time in Vietnam, he fought in the Battle of Khe Sanh, one of the bloodiest and longest battles of the war. He remained close friends with his fellow comrades from the 2nd Battalion, 26th Marines (2/26) Foxtrot Company, with whom he reunites annually through the Khe Sanh Veterans Association, having just returned from one on Sunday.

Butch graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1967 prior to joining the Marine Corps. He worked in the Gas Control Unit for El Paso Corporation in Houston, Texas and had to retire early in 1995 due to health issues. Butch enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years and was an avid football fan with Notre Dame being his favorite team. He also loved playing golf with the Silver Eagles at Meadowbrook Farm in Katy, Texas for many years. Butch loved to travel both domestically and internationally, having visited approximately 50 countries.

Butch was a faithful member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Fulshear, Texas.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 17, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek. Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 18, 2024, 10:00am at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek with Military Honors at the Houston VA cemetery following the service.
