In Loving Memory of Lois Rucker March 19, 1947 – January 25, 2025 Lois Groschke Rucker, of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 25, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories. Born on March 19, 1947, to Bill and Alminta Groschke, Lois grew up in Addicks, where she graduated from Katy High School. She went on to dedicate 48 and a half years of her life to a successful career at AIG, becoming a pillar of loyalty and hard work in her profession. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, George Rucker, as well as her parents. She is survived by her son, Jason Rucker; her three brothers, WC Groschke, JR, David Groschke and wife Pam, Mark Groschke and wife Sandy, and countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Rosa Olivares, her dedicated caregiver for almost four years, whom Jason considers a part of the family. A woman of deep passions and a vibrant spirit, Lois loved many things: attending Canton trade days, gardening, being a season ticket holder for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for over 30 years, and traveling with her family. She found joy in George Strait’s music, cheering for the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys, and supporting the Langham Creek FFA community. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Addicks United Methodist Church. Lois’ heart was also full of love for her feathered and furry companions. Cats, birds, and horses brought her comfort and delight, just as she brought them care and affection. While those she leaves behind will miss her dearly, we find solace in knowing she is reunited with her cherished George, the love of her life. A graveside service to honor Lois’s life will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, located at 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Lois’ name to Addicks United Methodist Church, PO Box 940173, Houston, 77094. Lois’s light shone brightly, and her memory will forever warm the hearts of all who knew her.
