Lyle Seavy Drews

Lyle Seavy Drews, Sr. age 82, passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, January 26, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He was born on July 13, 1932 in Houston, Texas to parents Charles & Julia Drews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Julia Drews, and brothers, Rupert Drews, Robert Drews, Fred Drews, and Alvin (Jack) Drews and by his sisters Edna Drews and Doris Blake. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Orlena (Dickie) Drews. Sons, Lyle Seavy Drews Jr. and his wife Gaylynn, Ronald Benson Drews and his wife Cheryl; Richard Dennis Drews and his wife Irene, Christopher Wayne Drews and his wife Beth, and Michael Allen Drews and his wife Donna; grandchildren Randi Schroder and her husband Steven, Traci Marie Drews, Corrigan Jacob Drews, Dustin Drews, Katrina Joy Drews, Brittany Nicole Drews, Benjamin Lyle Drews; sisters Anne-Ruth Rogers, Dorothy Mahaffey, and Irene Weiser and her husband Calvin, Grace Scarborough and her husband Albert. Plus 5 great-grandchildren 1 great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews. Lyle served in the United States Army during the Korean War earning the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was an avid outdoors man and a lifelong scouter. Even though never advancing past the second-class rank as a youth because he could not swim, he remained active in the scouting program from the age of 11 till his illness took it away from him.

Visitation will be on Sunday February 1, 2015 5PM-8PM Location – American Heritage Funeral Home 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston 77038 (next to Houston National Cemetery). Service will be Monday February 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church 161 West Road Houston 77037 (across from Aldine High School). Interment will be Monday February 2, 2015 2:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston 77038 with a reception to preceding the service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 161 West Rd. Houston, Texas 77037
