M. Dorethea Taylor was born October 4, 1925 in Erath, La. and passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family June 24, 2014 in Houston, TX. . Dorethea was raised on a farm and was a wonderful cook and enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren. She had a gumbo recipe that was her specialty that she would not give up even to her children. Dorethea is preceded by her husband Roger Warren Taylor Sr. and her parents. She is survived by her children Roger Taylor, Jr., Michael Taylor and Dorothea Vandagriff. Dorethea is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Rodriguez, Wade Taylor, Aaron Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Corey Taylor Daniel Vandagriff, Wesley Vandagriff and Nathan Vandagriff.
Services celebrating Dorethea’ s life will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Concluding services, she will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
