I miss you my dear friend and sister in heart Madeleine, till I see you again. Merry Christmas!

Never a day that have passed that I didn't remember you my Beloved sister Mimi.
You are and will always ❤️ be in my heart and thoughts forever till I see you again!

I first "met" Madeleine over the phone in 1995 just before Anne Marie and I started medical school. Our first conversation was lovely and lively just as all of our conversations since.  It was serendipitous that Madeleine and Safwat lived very close to my parents in West Houston at that time.  I spent many evenings in their home talking, laughing, eating (anything with Madeleine's famous béchamel sauce and the best popcorn ever!).  I felt so at home as if  I was with my own family (except more fun).  Madeleine was an amazing example of a mom with a busy career who was there for everyone.  Especially in her time being a woman in the financial world and raising 2 children was not easy.  She was a devoted wife and mother and also an amazing Aunt to all of Anne Marie's friends and cousins. I can still hear her voice talking to me as well as the sweet sound of her laughter.  She sometimes referred to me as her "other daughter."  I was so lucky to know such an exceptional woman.  May God rest her soul and may she watch us from above.  Thank you to all of the members of the Abdelsayed family, including Safwat, Michael, Mary, Marina, and last but not least Johnny for welcoming me so many years ago and treating me like your cousin.  Anne Marie is truly my sister and I will cherish your family always. 

I cannot find the words to express how sad I am and hurt I feel with the passing of my beautiful Mimi; but Blessed to know such a classy lady, a loving sister that I never had, a loyal and confident friend that I can tell anything without being judged, like even the closest people to me  will do.  She never put me down, even when I was putting myself down, but always lifted me up with her FAITH and genuine love and support. Mimi (Madeleine) was my great friend before becoming Mary's mother in law, in better words, second mother. Mimi is the one that has chosen Mary's Wedding dress during her trials of many, and selected the food menus in her engagement and wedding days, as she was a great cook. Mimi's put the Agbeya on my phone so I can listen to, even when I am tired in bed. I had a great time with her in Florida this year, and thank you to Mary for making it happen by preparing my travel arrangement. Also Gigi her cousin and I had the best time together during the church retreat in Gorgia. I may have lost Mimi on Earth, but I definitely gained her as my eternal guardian angel, till I see her again. Don't worry Mimi I will keep the promises I made to you when we used to sit together, having coffee and chatting.  Holidays will not be the same without you to plan it and host it. I will always love you and appreciate you till I die. See you soon my loving friend and sister.

I called Madelaine my Super Brave Courageous Precious Cousin. 
She is all the wonderful and amazing descriptions given to her by her precious children, Michael and Annie and her grandchildren.  
I appreciated her coming to celebrate Misty’s wedding in Mexico 2019 despite being still ill and in recovery. We were honored and grateful to have spent a wonderful week with precious family and loved ones, having her and Soad there, makes all the memories even more special and precious.
I have grown very close to my dearest cousin, and I will miss her so much.
May God be with all our family through this very difficult time.

It's not easy to loose a love one, the only consolation  is that she's now resting with the Lord.

When I first met Madeleine... she was just my Cousin Safwat's wife, but through the years we become very close... they called her Mimi and my  nickname is also Mimi... I had a son and I named him Michael... three months later she had a son and she named him Michael ( our two Michaels are great friends ).
Mimi and I became great friends... whenever I came to visit in Houston, I would spend a few days at her and Safwat's place.. we became so close.. my heart is breaking knowing that I will never see her beautiful face again, and not spend precious time together.., I was with her this past November and spent Thanksgiving and a few days after that with her... we had the greatest time and spent it all just talking and laughing.. she even gave me a present.. my favourite perfume!!  The last time I saw Madeleine was December the 7th. the day before I travelled back to Canada..I gave her a hug and kiss and told that I was praying for her and hoping to come back soon and spend more time together and she said " Inshallah Habibti !" But it's not God's  Will.. I guess they needed A New Angel in Heaven on Christmas Day.  Good bye my precious friend Mimi... I will miss you so very much much.  Your very loving friend "Mimi"

Madelaine was a towering figure of strength, inspiration and kindness. Having spent some time recently in Houston and seeing how she lived every day as she was dealing with her medical challenges I was so impressed and touched with how kind and considerate she was of others .
