Manivone Julie Ravenhorst

HOUSTON, TEXAS- Manivone “Julie” Ravenhorst passed away peacefully in the wee hours of the morning of April 15, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Julie was born December 22, 1971 in Vientiene, Laos to Souphone and Chanlap Phomvongsavad, she was the fourth of their six children. In 1980, Julie and her family relocated to the United States. Julie met the love of her life, Harvey “Rusty” Ravenhorst in 2004, and they married April 29, 2006.

Julie and Rusty birthed three children, J.R., Audrey J., and George H. Ravenhorst, those three were their mothers whole world. One of Julie’s favorite hobbies was thrifting; she was always on the search for that great bargain. She was also a tremendous cook, Julie loved to entertain her friends and family in her home. Julie was also an animal lover, especially her little Maltese Patches. She definitely had a smile that would brighten even the darkest room, Julie was a miracle to all that knew her.

Julie’s father, Souphone Phomvongsavad preceded her in death. Left behind to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Harvey “Rusty” Ravenhorst; their three children, J.R., Audrey J., and George H. Ravenhorst; her mother, Chanlap Phomvongsavad; her sisters, Phetsamone Stewart, and Vathana Lenn Quade; brothers, Chansamone, Souksamone, and Phetprasong; eight nieces and nephews, twenty-nine cousins, and numerous friends. Julie will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorials and donations to the Ashford United Methodist Church, or the VCA Ashford Animal Hospital are welcomed by the family.
