Manuel Armando Pina Jr., 53, of Houston, Texas, passed into God’s loving arms on November 15, 2025. He was born on January 11, 1972, in Richmond, Texas, to Julia Acosta and the late Manuel Armando Pina Sr.
Manuel was a devoted man of God whose faith shaped every part of his life. Although his relationship with the Lord began long before, his walk with Christ deepened profoundly at Champions Community Church. It became a place where his faith grew stronger, his purpose clearer, and his heart even more open to serving others.
Manuel poured that love into his community. He had a special place in his heart for youth and young adults, guiding them with patience, understanding, and a steady hand. He was the kind of person who quietly stepped in when someone was struggling—lifting people back to their feet, offering encouragement, and standing by them when no one else did. His compassion, loyalty, and genuine care changed lives, and his impact will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
Manuel had a natural gift for bringing comfort and joy. His laughter, humor, and ability to make light of difficult moments brought peace to those around him. He never hesitated to help others, and his generous spirit left a lasting imprint on his family, friends, and community.
For 30 years, Manuel dedicated himself to the auto-glass industry, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike through his strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to lend a hand. To many, he will always be “Mr. MacGyver”—the man who could fix anything and approached every challenge with confidence and heart.
A collector at heart, Manuel treasured memorabilia from his childhood and loved discovering vintage finds on back-road adventures. He found joy in taking road trips with his family, exploring new places, and spending time outdoors—moments filled with laughter, memories, and togetherness.
Above all, Manuel deeply loved his wife and children. His family was his greatest joy, and there was nothing he would not do for them.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Rivera; his daughter, Alana S. Pina; his stepson, Oscar Coronado; his mother, Julia Acosta; his sisters, Emma America Pina, Stephanie Ann Pina Bautista, Juliet Magdalena Lopez, and Maria-April Lee; his brothers, Sergio Brian Lopez, Marshal Alfonso Pina, and Raven Pina; along with their families, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, Manuel Armando Pina Sr. Manuel will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his faith filled heart, his joyful sense of humor, and the love he poured into his family, friends, and community. His legacy continues in the countless lives he touched and in the faith he faithfully shared.
