Margarita Ruiz

Margarita Hildago Ruiz, known affectionately as “Lita,” passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on June 10, 1939, to Ramona and Pablo Hildago, Lita lived a life full of love, strength, and devotion to her family.

Lita was the beloved wife of Vicente Ruiz Sr., with whom she built a beautiful life centered around their two children, Hilda Luna and Vincent Ruiz Jr. She was the proud and doting grandmother of Andrea Luna, Alexis Miori, Brianna Ruiz, Zachary Luna, and Brandon Ruiz. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her grandchildren grow and thrive. She never missed a moment—whether it was a sporting event, concert, graduation, or family gathering, Lita was always there, cheering them on with great enthusiasm.

When she wasn’t keeping up with her grandchildren's lives, Lita could be found passionately following her favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros. A true fan, she celebrated every win and endured every loss, always faithful to her team.

Lita was a longtime member of Holy Name Church, where her devotion to her faith was evident through her involvement in the Women’s Prayer Group. She was a woman of unwavering strength, fiery spirit, and immense generosity, always giving of herself to those in need. Her presence filled every room she entered, and her love for her family and friends was boundless.

Lita’s legacy is one of resilience, warmth, and love. She will be deeply missed, but the impact she made on her family and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation with the family for Margarita will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM, in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024 with the graveside service following immediately after the funeral service at Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main Street, Houston, Texas 77009.
