Margarito “Mark” F. Mendez, 73, of Richmond, Texas entered into rest May 12, 2019. He was born in Luling, Texas on April 5, 1946. He was married the love of his life Mary S. Mendez on October 18, 1980. Mark worked for the United States Postal Service for 27 years. He was a member of the H.O.P.E., Knights of Columbus, President of the St. Francis Soccer Club, and Union Steward for A.P.W.U. Mark had a passion for western movies, soccer, music, art, education for underprivileged youth, but above all, his true passion was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary S. Mendez, Children; Marcella, Nicholas, Peter, and Raymond, Grandchildren; Max, Mackenzie, and Sofia, Siblings; Lupe Redburn, Juan Mendez, and Irene Ramos-Mendez.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 from 9:00am to 11:00am with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. Committal service will be held at 12:45pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
