Maria Dolores Ancheta was affectionately called by everyone as Dolly. Dolly was born on November 24, 1936 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Col. Celedonio Ancheta and Socorro Lopez. She is the eldest of her brother and sisters Mrs. Aurora Socco, Dr. Asunción (Sonie) Gregorio, Col. Celedonio (Danny) Ancheta, Jr. (deceased), Mrs. Antonia (Annette) Mangulabnan, and Ms. Patricia (Manang Pat) Saludares (deceased).
Dolly graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She was married from 1958 to 1981 to Atty. Quirino (Noy) C. Carpio, Jr. (deceased). She was married to Mr. Pepito (Pete) Macasaet from 1993 to 2007. She is survived by her five children with Noy: Mrs. Babette Garza, Mr. Albert Carpio, Dr. Cynthia Basaldua, Mrs. Christine Blocher, and Atty. Maria (Chiqui) Carpio.
Dolly’s passion was playing mahjong. She loved entertaining friends and family at home while listening to her favorite song “La Vie En Rose”. She loved flowers, gardening and sitting by the ocean. But her true passion was being a grandmother to her nine grandchildren Genevieve, Camille, Diana, Isabel, Anna, Michael, Nathanael, Karen, and David. She especially loved being a great-grandmother to Helaina.
Dolly was a loving mother-in-law to Mr. Juan Noe Garza (deceased), Mr. Gary Wilson, Mr. Horacio Basaldua, and Mr. Robert (Bob) Blocher.
Dolly leaves behind many loving and supportive nephews, nieces and friends.
It is the hope and prayer of Dolly’s family that she is finally reunited in soul and spirit with her loyal friend, Manang Pat, who was like a sister to her, in eternity.
Dolly’s family wishes to especially thank her former husband and life-long partner Mr. Pepito (Pete) Macasaet, her favorite niece Mrs. Zarah Jane (Jet-Jet) Hacker, and her son-in-law Mr. Horacio Basaldua, for the love, generosity and care that they provided Dolly during her final and most challenging years. To Mang Pete, Jet-Jet and Horacio, we are eternally grateful.
