Maria Elena Ocampo, age 45, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 30, 1980, Maria Elena was the heart and glue of those who knew her — a constant, quiet strength whose presence held everyone together.

She loved deeply and fiercely. Her niece and nephew were the light of her life, and she poured her whole heart into every moment she spent with them. Maria Elena found peace in nature — in the stillness of sunsets, the rhythm of the ocean, and the comfort of her pets, who were always by her side. These simple, beautiful things reflected the gentleness of her spirit.

What made Maria Elena truly special was her honesty and her unapologetic self. She carried a tough edge, a little bit of that “mean” humor everyone knew, but beneath it was a selfless, giving soul who always cared more for others than for herself. She showed her love through actions, sacrifice, and loyalty, never asking for anything in return.

María Elena Ocampo, de 45 años, falleció rodeada del amor de su familia. Nacida el 30 de junio de 1980, María Elena era el corazón y el pegamento de quienes la conocían, una fuerza constante y silenciosa cuya presencia mantenía a todos unidos.

Amaba profunda y ferozmente. Su sobrina y sobrino eran la luz de su vida, y ella entregaba todo su corazón en cada momento que pasaba con ellos. María Elena encontraba paz en la naturaleza: en la quietud de las puestas de sol, en el ritmo del océano y en el consuelo de sus mascotas, que siempre estaban a su lado. Estas cosas simples y hermosas reflejaban la gentileza de su espíritu.

The funeral service will follow at the same location on December 2, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A committal service will take place at Woodlawn Funeral Home Garden of Memories, located at 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston, TX 77055, on December 2, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
