Maria C. Urias

Maria C. Urias, age 69, of Houston, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020. Maria was born in Corpus Christi, TX on July 25, 1951 to parents Julia Rodriguez Galaviz and Jose Alegria Galaviz.

Maria’s greatest achievements included raising her children and grandchildren. She took pride in her home and enjoyed large dinners with family. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church. Maria enjoyed cooking and spending quality time with her family. She worked in retail for several years where she later retired.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Julia Rodriguez Galaviz and Jose Alegria Galaviz, brothers Joe P. Galaviz, Max Galaviz, son Frank Alexander, Jr., and granddaughter Vivian Suzette Alexander.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Raul Jimenez Urias; children, Veronica Alexander, Valerie Alexander, Frank Alexander, Jr., Fernando Alexander, Frederick Alexander, Briana Alexander, Kimberly Rodriguez, Betty Terramiggi, Dina Urias Tate; siblings, Rev. Rose Amaro, Gloria G. Hernandez, Oralia Garcia, Delia Quiroga, Amelia "Molly" Suarez, Roy Galaviz, Julia Ann Trigo, Richard Galaviz and sister Elizabeth Helliwell; 35 grandchildren, 41 great - grandchildren, 1 great - great grandchild as well as a host of other relative and friends.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Grand Room at Brookside with burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Henry Alexander, Richard Belmarez, Frank Alexander III, Rodney Belmarez , Steven Belmarez, Frederick Alexander, Jr., Julian Alexander, Johnathon Alexander, Ricardo Mejia, Fernando Alexander, Jr. and Joshua Alexander.
