

On Saturday morning, May 30, 2015, Marjorie Elizabeth Toney Graham completed her earthly journey and entered the joy of heaven. She passed away at Sunrise of Cinco Ranch in Katy, Texas. Her three children, Marjorie, Henry, and Lloyd, together with other family members, kept a vigil at her bedside during her final days.
Marjorie was born on April 21, 1925, in Doerun, Georgia, to John Woodfin Toney and Maggie King Toney. Marjorie’s father was a banker and served as the mayor of Doerun. Her mother, an accomplished musician, was the organist for First Baptist Church of Doerun.
Marjorie married Tom Campbell Graham on August 25, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and remained his faithful and loving wife for 48 years until she mourned his passing on December 2, 1993.
Marjorie attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia, where she was a piano performance major. In Houston, she was a student of artist teacher Ruth Burr. Marjorie spent many years teaching piano in her private studio, and she was an active presenter and performer in the Treble Clef Club, a Houston musical society.
Marjorie is survived by her three children and their spouses: Marjorie Graham Gustafson and Robert Gustafson of Greenville, SC, Henry Woodfin Graham and Phyllis Graham of Fulshear, TX and Lloyd Barrett Graham and Melissa Graham of Nelsonville, TX, seven grandchildren: Robert Gustafson III, Amy Gustafson, Trevor Graham, Stefan Graham, Meghan Engdahl, Madison Graham and AJ Graham, four great-grandchildren: Jackson and Peyton Graham, Taylor Graham and Gabriel Engdahl and her sister Barbara Alexander of Lincoln, CA.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at Sunrise of Cinco Ranch for their kind attentiveness to Marjorie during her residence there and to Resolutions Hospice for their compassionate care.
A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, Texas 77087-1005.
