Mary Margaret Feuer, age 79, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by faith, family, and lasting relationships.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mary moved to Texas during her youth, where she would spend the remainder of her life. She attended Dominican Catholic School in Galveston and later moved to Houston, where she graduated from the University of Houston. It was there that she met her husband, Joel, a meeting that began when she rear-ended his car, a story remembered with good-natured humor by her family.
Mary was the proud mother of four children, David, Tina, Karen, and Lisa, and the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Addison, Braeden, Payton, Dylan, Audrey, Cade, and Ethan. Her family was her greatest source of pride, and her love for them was unwavering. She was the eldest of six siblings and is survived by her brothers Denis and Chris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel, and her brothers Michael, Steve, and Mark.
A woman of strong Catholic faith, Mary lived a devoted life shaped by her beliefs and her commitment to those she loved. She found joy in the simple things: shared meals, familiar routines, and time spent with family and friends. She especially enjoyed preparing a few Italian and Mexican dishes she loved, often insisting there was no better spaghetti sauce than her own. She was a loyal Notre Dame, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching her favorite game shows. One of her most memorable qualities was her unique and contagious laugh, which could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Mary consistently put her family first. She lived modestly and gave generously. Her friends cherished her, her neighbors looked out for her, and her family always knew they were loved. Mary’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who carry forward her strength, integrity, and deep commitment to family.
A celebration of life will be held for the friends and family of Mary at Churrascos in Sugar Land, February 7th from 12-3 pm.
