Mary Corina Elsie Lee Gray was born on April 7, 1941 to Steve Joseph Johnnie and Selina Mae Gray in Fort Worth, Texas. She was the second of four children. She was a proud graduate of the class of 1959 Milton Kirkpatrick High School.
Upon graduating from high school, she relocated to Houston, Texas to attend Texas Southern University (TSU) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1965. While attending TSU, she met and married the love of her life William Gulley I. To this union 3 children were born.
In 1967, she began working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Computer Analyst. After 35 years of service, she retired in 2002.
She was a lover of life and loved by many. She enjoyed traveling, visiting the casino, playing cards, dancing, singing and cooking. Her loving, caring, kind-hearted spirit and smile was a light to many. She loved sports- basketball, football, tennis and golf.
Waiting to escort her through the gates are her husband -William C Gulley I, son- William “Bill” Gulley II, her brother Willie “Butch” Johnson and her parents.
She leaves to cherish in her memory: her children, Valery “Val”, Vincent (Bridget) Gulley, Charles and Warren Gulley and Brenda Hamilton, God-daughter Tiffani Washington; siblings Johnnie Marie Lindsey (Victor), Judith Gray Jones, Joseph “Bubba” Gray (Jackie), Terry Gray (Gwen), Eddie Gray (Vera), Cynthia Gray, Harold Johnson (Cynthia), Johnnie Gray Jr (Mary), 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
