She grew up in Houston attending Memorial Senior High School where she was active in academics, theater, and especially choir. She was also an active member of the Joyful Noise Choir at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church. She graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin earning a degree in education. She taught in the Special Education program at Murchison Junior High in Austin. After a time, she realized her talent for sales and business management earning a position as a branch manager for an Austin company selling business phone systems. Her success in that business eventually led her back to Houston where she rose through the ranks of Global Services, providing business solutions through office machine sales and leasing. There, she enjoyed a successful career in sales, marketing, and team building. Later, in retirement she championed the cause of animals needing rescue.
She is preceded in death by her father, Paul James. She is survived by her mother, Joanne James of Houston, her brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Robin James of Houston, her nephew, Noah James and niece Nicole James.
A memorial service will be held this Thursday, May 27th at 6:30 pm at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
