

Mary Ann Nance, 86, passed away on May 15, 2026. Born in Houston, Texas on September 8, 1939, Mary was the daughter of Willis & Eunice Holden. Pastor Mary carried throughout her life a steady devotion to faith, family and service to others. She graduated from Galena Park High School and from those early years forward, her kind-hearted spirit and deep sense of purpose remained evident to all who knew her.
Mary was ordained as a minister by John Osteen, a calling she embraced with reverence and dedication. She was a member of Lakewood Church for six years and her ministry extended well beyond any single place. Shaped by a sincere compassion for people in need. For over thirty years she devoted herself to beginning and sustaining a non-profit organization serving the homeless, those struggling with drug addiction and alcoholism and those in need of help and hope. In 2006, she began pastoring and continuing a life marked by steadfast care, humble leadership and a beloved presence in the lives she touched.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Nance) Ford, six grandchildren and Larry Williams whom is a loving member to her and the family. She will be remembered with gratitude and respect as a devoted mother and grandmother and as a beloved woman whose kindness was expressed through a life of faithful service.
Visitation will be held on May 22, 2026, beginning at 12:30 pm with the funeral service to being at 2:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
