

Mary Jane Kidd Poskey, age 86, passed away on Saturday, the 5th of November 2011. Mary was born on the 9th of May 1925 in Bonham, Texas. She attended Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, where she met and married Ardie D. Poskey, Jr.
They briefly lived in College Station, Texas while Ardie finished his education at Texas A&M University. Following his graduation they lived in Houston while Mary worked at Humble Oil until the adoption of their son, Dale Wayne, in 1957. Three years later they adopted their daughter, Jeannie, in 1961. Mary was a devoted wife and mother who also enjoyed her many bridge groups. She and Ardie spent most weekends at their farm near Huntsville, Texas. After retirement they traveled extensively throughout Europe and North America.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ardie, in 1996. She is survived by her son, Dale Wayne, and wife, Amy, of Houston; daughter, Jeannie Arnold and husband, Mark, of Fort Worth; grandson, Kirby James, and granddaughter, Erin Marie; nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews; many friends and loved ones throughout Texas. She will be dearly missed.
The memorial service is to be conducted at one o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 11th of November, in the Jasek Chapel at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where Rev. Charles Thompson, Executive Pastor at First United Methodist Church-Downtown Campus, is to officiate. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the adjacent Grand Foyer.
