Mary Ann Zimmerman

Mary graduated from Northshore High School where she was an officer in FHA, rose to Area Vice President of that organization in her senior year, and graduated in the top ten in her class. After high school she worked for Foley’s Corporation in Houston rising to become a Senior Executive Assistant.

Mary wed William Thomas Zimmerman in 1970 and focused on raising the eight children they shared. Mary was passionate about sharing the Gospel of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, and about all the ways He guided and helped her through life. She devoted her life to her family, her children, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and volunteered at every VBS, church nursery, and school function she possibly could.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Zimmerman; son, Eric Ezekiel Zimmerman; parents, Harry and Irene Fake; brothers, Harry Fake, Jr. and Albert Stone Fake; daughter-in-law, Cathryn Grace Zimmerman.

She is survived by her children, Paul Daniel Leirer and spouse Roberta Leirer, Noble Thomas Zimmerman and spouse Jennifer Lea Zimmerman, Clinton Stone Zimmerman and spouse, Christopher Zane Zimmerman and spouse Anne Nicole Ross, John Luther Zimmerman, Joseph William Zimmerman and spouse Jennifer Nelson-Zimmerman, and Myra Elizabeth Zimmerman; grandchildren, Chelsea Christina Maresh, William Thomas Zimmerman, Sidney Nichole Zimmerman, Daniel Robert Leirer, Kyra Lucia Leirer, Nicholas Beauregard Zimmerman, Kaylee Elizabeth Mora, Cody Clinton Zimmerman, Rylie Savannah Zimmerman, Evelyn Lea Zimmerman, and Hadlea Dianne Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Grace Sawyer Maresh, and Iker Ryan Maresh; siblings, Linda Lee Daves, Harriet Irene Noska, Carol Lou Lively, Helen Louise Lenard, and Jack Morris Fake.

If you are inclined to donate to a charity of your choice in her honor, Mary Ann’s passions were around the physical care and spiritual nurturing of children. Live plants that her family can care for in remembrance are also very much appreciated.

A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A reception will occur Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Paul Leirer, Noble Zimmerman, Clinton Zimmerman, Christopher Zimmerman, John Zimmerman and Joseph Zimmerman.
