She departed this life on November 13, 2022 at 8:13 p.m., and leaves behind a legacy of family and friends who will mourn her passing.
She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Robert) Shields, Sheryl Washington, one son Ray Williams, one brother Virgil Brown, and one grandson Corey Williams, all of Houston, Texas…and a host of relatives and friends.
Mattie was always helpful to those in need and provided shelter and food to many. Throughout her life she held many jobs as a caregiver, machinist, and housekeeper.
She was a very hard worker and hustler who could take two grains of sand and turn it into money
