

Maurine “Muv” Lewis Rheinold, age 95, was born on the 18th of September 1920, in Waco, Texas and passed away in the early morning hours on Thursday the 10th of March 2016, at Houston Methodist West Hospital in Katy, Texas. When she was six months old, Maurine moved to Houston where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a 1938 graduate of John H. Reagan High School. Even though Maurine’s job at the Houston Bank for Cooperatives was short lived, she made many lifelong friends. She was fortunate to share her life with two wonderful and loving husbands. Her first husband, and the father of her two daughters, was Geo. H. Lewis, Jr. Maurine and Geo. were happily married from the 18th of September 1945 until Geo.’s death on the 12th of May 1980. She was married to William A. Rheinold from the 29th of October 1988 until his death on the 27th of August 2010. Maurine loved spending time with her family and friends, playing golf, bridge, and traveling. She enjoyed playing golf until she was eighty years old. Maurine was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at both Brae Burn and Sugar Creek Country Clubs. She was also a longtime member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she served for many years on the Altar Guild.
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Caroline and Cone Lawson Cross; both husbands; her precious daughter, Nancy Lewis Murray Trainer; one stepson, William J. Rheinold; two sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Lewis Sutherland of Katy, TX; and her step daughter, Cris Thomas of Houston, TX; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Robert C. Murray, III (Jill) of Keller, TX and their children, Sutton, Savannah, and Bennett; Amy L Berger (Brian) of Katy, TX and their children, Emily and Trent; Jennifer M. Cunningham (Scott) of Katy, TX and their children, Parker and Luke; and Eric Lewis Sutherland of San Diego, CA; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
The graveside service is to be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 25th of March, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, at 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive, where there will be a time set aside for sharing of memories and remembrances.
Muv’s oldest grandson, Trent, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis two years ago, at the age of 15. Finding a cure for this dreaded disease was very important to her.
