Melissa Rose Buchanan

Melissa loved taking care of her family like making sure we had all the food planned out for the week, running errands, and attending various functions for both her girls. Supporting Sky and Rae with their life decisions. Providing Elizabeth and Emily sisterly advice on big choices or just chitchatting with her mom on her daily Starbucks run. Taking Dominic to buy clothes or even talking soccer with Payton. She loved her family very deeply.

She was best known for her love and kindness, especially towards animals and kids. Living life in the lane of, “just figuring it out.” She attended The University of Houston Downtown and was studying at Southern New Hampshire University to complete her Bachelor’s degree.

Melissa was preceded in death by her Grandfather ”Granddad”, Wayne Watkins, her Uncle Ben Watkins, her Grandfather “Poppy”, Angelo Capalbo, and Grandmother “Nonny”, Mary Capalbo.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Joe Buchanan Jr., her daughters Sky Lee Wemigwans, Raelynne Rose Wemigwans, her Mother Janet Watkins, Andy Capalbo, sisters Elizabeth Pitts and Emily Capalbo, her Grandmother “Grannie”, Zada Watkins, Aunts and Uncles – Libby and Bob Baker, Mike and Rebecca Watkins and numerous nephews and cousins.

Melissa was an amazing, loving, and kind spirit that leaves a great hole in this world.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6th at 10 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home at Champions.
