Michael Thomas Stone

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mike "Mikey" "Uncle Monkey" Stone, a beloved brother, friend, and passionate enthusiast of life. Mike passed away on August 15,2024 at the age of 38.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, Mike was known for his sharp mind and gentle spirit. A true intellectual at heart, he found immense joy in the strategic game of chess, where his skill and patience were unmatched. He also had a vivid imagination and loved immersing himself in the world of Dungeons & Dragons, where he brought characters to life with his creativity and wit. An avid sports fan, Mike was devoted to the Houston Astros, celebrating their victories and standing by them through every season. His love for the game brought him much happiness and was a common thread in his conversations with friends and family.

Though he never married and had no children, Mike was a cherished member of his family and community.

He is survived by his brothers Jeff Green and wife Michelle, Stewart Martin and Scott Ammons also sisters Cristy Buckner and Ashley Martin and wife Katie Martin. Many nieces and nephews along with great nieces and nephews. He also had friends who were touched by his kindness, intelligence, and warm personality. Mike will be remembered for his unique spirit, his love for games and sports, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on September 2, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Great Heights Brewing Company.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Astros Foundation.
