

Mildred Elaine Comardo passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 and now resides in peace with her Father, Our God in Heaven. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Mom was born and raised in the East Texas Groveton/Apple Springs area. She graduated from Groveton High School in 1942 and shortly after moved to Houston where she met Frank Comardo, and lived the rest of her life. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston. She and her husband of 65 years, Frank, loved and cared for one another and their family, and have enjoyed a full and prosperous life together. She was preceded by Frank in death and they are now reunited in peace. She will be missed greatly for her kindness, laughter, cooking, crafts, and genuine care of family and friends. She is survived by sons, Nicholas Comardo and wife, Nancy, Mathis Comardo and wife, Kathleen, and Christopher Comardo and wife, Julie. Also, grandchildren, Laura Soto and husband, Ruy, their children Gabriela and Nicholas, and Angelique Spies and husband, Tim, their child Ainsley and baby Spies, due in a few weeks, and Mitchell Comardo, and Samuel Comardo. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010, with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4419 North Main Street, Houston 77009, with internment to follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Memorial Foundation.
