Mrs. Miriam Suyapa Cooke

Miriam Suyapa Cooke, 57, of Houston, Texas passed into eternal rest on April 17, 2017. She was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on September 29, 1959. Miriam graduated from Houston Training School and received a license in cosmetology. Miriam met John Cooke in June of 2001, and she married the love of her life on October 8,2004. Miriam had a career in cosmetology for Miriam's Hair Salons. Gardening, her grandchildren and hair styling were her passions.

Left to cherish her memories are children: Antonio Cordova and wife Xiomara, Margaret Cordova, Consuelo Cordova; grandchildren: Samuel Cordova, Nicholas Cordova, Magdalena Cordova, Ethan Cordova, Khloe Cordova; her parents, Efrain Vela and Consuelo Valencia; siblings, Corina Pena, Hector Munoz, Marlon Cartagena, Marvin Cartagena, Franklin Cartagena. She was preceded in death by brother, Jorge Cartagena.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. The funeral service will be Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home with interment following in Brookside Memorial Park. A reception in the Grand Reception Hall at Brookside will be from 1:15 to 3:15 p.m.
