A proud graduate of Westminster High School, he went on to earn his Master of Business Administration in Project Management from Jones International University. Monte was an incredible, kind-hearted man who lived a life of honor, service, and compassion. He was deeply devoted to his family, always putting the needs of others before his own. Those who knew Monte remember him as a gentle soul with a strong moral compass, a steady hand, and a heart full of love. A 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Monte retired in 2007 as a Chief Master Sergeant. His military career was marked by integrity and commitment, proudly serving his country across the globe.
Throughout his service, Monte and his family called many places home—living in the Philippines, Somalia, Honduras, Japan, Indonesia, Holland, and across the United States, including Alaska, Virginia, California, Utah, and Arizona. His experiences shaped his global perspective and his deep appreciation for service and sacrifice. Outside of his military service, Monte lived life with joy, warmth, and a strong sense of community. He loved taking his boat out and inviting family and friends to share in the peace and fun of being on the water. His home was a welcoming place, often filled with laughter, food, and the people he loved most. Monte had a passion for fixing things and tackling home improvement projects—not just for himself, but for anyone who needed a helping hand. He found joy driving his truck down Texas roads, always up for an adventure or a quiet moment with the windows down. Monte was strong-spirited, always ready with a smile or a well-timed joke. He lived by the principle that if you can’t control something, let it go and keep moving forward—a reflection of his resilience and the calm strength he shared with others throughout his life. He was a proud member of the Texas Veteranos Association and the Disabled American Veterans. He was married to Carolina Natalia Schoffstall for 11 wonderful years.
