Morris Oregbemi was born on June 13th, 1947 in Kange, Cameroon to Samuel and Sofiana Oregbemi. He was raised in Duoala, Cameroon and moved back to Lagos, Nigeria along with his siblings and parents in 1975. He was raised by God fearing parents who developed in him a zeal for the ministry and faith in Jehovah. He symbolized his dedication to Jehovah on June 9, 1969.
Throughout the years, no matter how much or how little he had financially, with his wife’s support, he was always hospitable to others—having the friends from the Congregation over to their house for warm association and meals. Also, opening their homes to ‘strangers’ and friends from far and wide who found a place they could call home. Many in the various congregations where Morris and Roseline were a part of recount loving and warm memories of his quiet and humble disposition.
Morris devoted many hours in the ministry and remained an active proclaimer of the good news until his death. We recall fondly how even on his death bed, he convincingly held on to Jehovah’s command regarding the use of blood.
Morris will be remembered as a dedicated and loyal servant of Jehovah, who had a great love of family and as the “Peace Maker” of the family. Morris was indeed the peace maker of the family and often would sacrifice his rights for the sake of peace. He will be sorely missed as a mild husband to Roseline and as a patient father to his children.
Although deeply saddened by our loss, we know he is in Jehovah’s memory and among those who Jehovah ‘yearns’ to bring back to life in the promised resurrection so close at hand! –Job 14: 13-15
