Ed Winfred Henry (most commonly known among his friends, family and acquaintances as: Ed, Mr. Ed, and Paw Paw) was born on March 4, 1934, in Palestine, Texas. He was the oldest of three children. He was preceded in death by his Father: Albert Henry, his Mother: Verdie Henry, and his Granddaughter: Jauwanna Henry. Ed is survived by Doris Henry, his beloved wife of 60 years whom he married on November 29, 1953. He is also survived by his siblings: Shirley Suber Williams and Bennie Johnson-Lewis; along with his five children: Edwin Henry, Merle Rochester (husband Danny), Albert Henry, Ron Henry (wife Oneida), Gregg Henry (wife Tia); 5 Grandchildren: Erica, Janesha, Jarnai, Jason and Kayla; and 4 Great Grandchildren: Janasia, Jovon, Anaiyah and Michael Jr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Ed was a loving and committed father, husband, grandfather and friend who would give anyone "the shirt off of his back". He was a hard-working provider, a caring husband and father. He was always willing to help others and had a great fondness for animals (never able to see a stray one go without a home). He always wholly supported his family's spiritual activities, and at 78 years old, on June 16, 2012, he dedicated his life as a worshiper of Jehovah in Rosenberg, Texas. Thereafter he remained faithful in his service to Jehovah until his death on January 21, 2014. Ed loved to work, he also took time out to engage in some of his favorite hobbies such as fishing, and playing cards with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by us all, but not for long as we eagerly await to see him soon. (John 5:28, 29). Viewing of the body is scheduled for 6-9 p.m., January 31 at Lockwood Funeral Home, 9402 Lockwood Dr, Houston, TX 77016. A private graveside service will be held Saturday morning, February 1 at Brookside Memorial Park. Memorial services will held Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses; 5303 Yale St.; Houston, TX 77091.
