Seventy-nine years ago, on April 6th, God gave us Annie Bell Harris. She was born to Alford and Gladys Harris in Timpson, Texas, where she met a family of four with siblings Maurice and Yvonne. Later she became a big sister to Annie Nell, Ramsey, and Alford Jr. On September 12, 2015, God took her home again. She graduated Salutatorian from Timpson Colored High School in 1956. She later wed Harold Gene Driver of Timpson, TX and was married for 48 years before he passed away. Annie worked as a member of the custodial staff at M.B. Smiley High School and retired in 1996 after 21 years of service. During Annie's lifetime, she showed many fruits of the spirit- love, kindness, patience, faithfulness, and gentleness. The harvest of a life well lived. She showed a love for God, family, and nature. She showed kindness to her church family by serving 40 years in the Sunday School and Children's Church ministries. In addition, she was a committed member of Household of Faith Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Ken Campbell. Her motto was to "work hard" and "be thankful for what you have." There is no doubt that her life demonstrated a likeness in Christ. She was truly blessed by the fruits of her labor with the talent of canning homemade preserves and caring for others from infants to elders. Annie Bell was also blessed with three children, Schaikovski Gene Driver, Deborah Ann Driver, and the late Llewellyn James Driver. Annie Bell will be missed by all who knew her well. Left to cherish her memories are: Ann (daughter), Gene (son), Ardella Driver (daughter-in-law), Annie Nell Crockett (sister), 4 sister-in-law's: Mary Harris, Maureen Harris, Velma Harris, Genice Shaw; 11 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Today we celebrate the life of Annie Bell, but there is also another celebration in heaven because a saint has made her way home again.
