

She is a graduate of Kashmere High School. She received her bachelor of science degree at Texas Southern University and her Masters Degree in Library Science from Prairie View A&M University Sharon Ealy taught at Fonwood Elementary School in North Forest Independent School District for 40 years. She touched and mentored young people. She helped shape the lives of so many. She had a passion for teaching and loved it dearly. She was loved by so many of students, co-workers, principals and many, many others. She was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and spent many years with the troops. Sharon not only taught in the public school system, but she taught Vacation Bible School, Arts and Crafts, and worked with the youth at church. Yes, she was an Outstanding Educator. She was co-founder of the Elite Divas of Red Hat Society. Sharon accept Christ at a young tender age and she loved the Lord. Sharon grew up at Lorraine Street Church of God In Christ. She later joined Garden of Gethsemane Church of God In Christ where she served many years under the late Dr. Allen J. Hines and continued after his demise under the leadership of the late Pastor Charles L. Stevenson until his demise. At her demise she was a member of Faith Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor Shannon C. Jefferson. Sharon enjoyed reading books, cooking, and loved spending time with family and friends. Sharon entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 13, 2019, in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ray Ealy; her parents James & Eloise Thomas, three siblings Robert Thomas, Audrey Thomas and Patricia Thomas and several aunts and uncles. She leaves to cherish her memories her son Marcus Ealy; two grandchildren Makyah Ealy and MarLajah Calhoun; one brother James Thomas (Shiu fong), one sister Dorothy Degrate (N.C.); five nieces Michelle Thomas, Roshinda Thomas, Erica Henderson (Kevin), Nicole Brown (Billy), Danielle Degrate, three nephews, Nathaniel Thomas, Gregory Degrate, Shedric Degrate, one aunt Joyce Allen (Otis), four Uncles Columbus Thomas, Augustus Thomas, Eddie Thomas (Beatrice), Curtis Bryant, her special sister friends Diane Chandler, Coach Brent, and the Elite Divas of Red Hat Society and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
