

Born in Houston, Texas on September 7, 1922, he was the youngest child of the late John G. and Georgia Papas (Papazoglakis). He married his wife of 51 years, Sophia, on June 5, 1960.
Preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Paraskevi, Evangelia, and Thalia, and by his brother Louis, Nicholas is survived by his wife, Sophia, his son, John, his godchildren, and by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd., Houston, Texas 77006. The visitation will commence at 10:00 AM to be followed immediately at 10:30 AM by the funeral service. Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciatively requests that memorial donations be made in Nicholas’ memory to support the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at the World Trade Center or to the charity of one’s choice.
