Nina was born January 28, 1929 in Midfield, Texas and passed away September 18, 2021 in her home in Houston. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Charles Hammond, Sr. and Katie Casper Hammond; husband Dean Kelk and husband, L.L. “Mack” McKay; sons, Mickey McKay and son, Danny McKay; brother, Edgar “Charlie” Hammond; sisters, Lillian Brannon and Audrey Faye Lucky.
Remaining to cherish her memory are siblings, Marvin Hammond, Percy Hammond, Virginia Camp, Mary Anne Hornbustle, Wanda Jo Hazelwood, and Jackie Belle, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Nina was a gracious, kind, and tenderhearted lady, devoted wife and loving mother, and a dear friend to many. She also loved her racing greyhounds and pet dachshunds. She was the bookkeeper in a family-owned business, JMC Plastics, for several decades. Nina was also a member of Airline Manor Baptist Church.
