Nobie B Bruton Miller

Nobie Bruton Miller, born December 23, 1923 in Doyline, Louisiana to the late Cora Douglas and the late Charlie Bruton. Nobie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was baptized at Saint Mark Baptist Church in Doyline, Louisiana. Nobie retired from HISD in 1989 and spent her retirement years gardening, traveling and enjoying life until her health began to fail in 2012. Nobie was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Mr. T. Miller who passed away in 1985. She is survived by her seven children, Thelma Watkins and husband Emerson, Namon Allen and wife June, Raymond Allen and wife Estella, Sherry Goosby and husband Elliott, Lillie Webb and husband Dennis, Brenda Price, Robert Miller and wife Cynthia; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; two brothers, Lavelle Bruton of California and Raymond Bruton and wife Jerlene of Texas; four sisters, Dorothy White of Doyline, Lousiana, Sonie Taylor of California, Lessie Smith of California and Velma Childress of California; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with a committal service to follow at Houston Memorial Garden in Pearland TX.
